Almighty emotion, love.

Have you ever wondered if true love exists?
The love everyone is talking about. Poets, common people, kids. The one, pure feeling that enables your strength, sets the warmth of your heart on fire and makes you willing to sacrifice your own self for the good of others.
I believe its existence. I have felt its presence. And, god, all this can be true.
If only it could boost the meaning of your life, without stealing valuable contents out of it. Because, you know, that can happen too. Think of love as a feckless object that everyone can use however they want to. Do all know how to use it? No. That’s impossible. Now think of love as a powerful god, taking control of its pawns, humans. There you have the inability of people to maintain the inner balance of its power. And as a consequence they don’t have any clue on how to behave towards the target of their love. That’s when people get hurt. Sorry, but fairytales are far from reality.
Is true, pure love unconditional?
No. We all want something in return to our feelings. Even unconsciously we are waiting for the proper response to our behavior, to our endless willingness to achieve the target’s happiness. What about our happiness after all? What if I told you that it becomes of no importance?! Due to the target’s ‘euphoria’, you become happy or pleased and you forget yourself. They must return some of what you offered ‘’unconditionally’’. Because then what’s the purpose of endless emotional availability? What do you gain from that collaboration? The emptiness that the continuous offer causes must be refilled.
Can love be eternal? Can you ever stop loving?
That’s a worth-noticing challenge, I must say.  And it seems that I don’t have a universal answer to mention. Only my brain’s response. Yes, you can stop feeling. Either with your own, personal effort or with the contribution of your loved one. The second is the most effective one, the one I’ve experienced the most among my little contact with this feeling. But there’s another question troubling my mind. What if it wasn’t love all along? Then how can I provide myself with correct answers on whether eternality is one of love’s features? It seems that the lack of belief in something in particular erases all the expectations of the list. And that’s quite a relief among the burden of love’s mere existence. Oh the irony.
